# Aircraft model credits and source

The models are exterior display studies, not engineering geometry or flight simulators.
The source meshes, their original notices, and texture files used in the conversions are
available in [flightgear-source.tar.gz](./flightgear-source.tar.gz).
Modified aircraft assets and their rendered posters retain their original licenses. The surrounding website is a
separate work. No endorsement by the aircraft manufacturers or original model authors is implied.

## TBM 900 display

Adapted from Emmanuel BARANGER (helijah)'s **TBM 930** exterior for FlightGear,
[official FGAddon source](https://svn.code.sf.net/p/flightgear/fgaddon/trunk/Aircraft/TBM-930/),
revision 21797, retrieved October 22, 2026. [GNU GPL version 2](./licenses/GPL-2.0.txt).

Changes: Blender conversion to glTF, physical materials, removal of simulator-only
reflection and propeller-disc substitutes, a new silver/black/cyan UV livery based on
Andrew's chosen photograph, and span adjustment to 12.83 m. The 930 source provides the
shared TBM-family exterior; this is not a complete 900-specific cockpit or systems model.
The paint is an interpretation rather than a reproduction of the photographed registration.

## Cirrus SR22

Emmanuel BARANGER (helijah), [official FGAddon source](https://svn.code.sf.net/p/flightgear/fgaddon/trunk/Aircraft/Cirrus-SR22/),
revision 21797. [GNU GPL version 2](./licenses/GPL-2.0.txt).
Blender conversion, revised glazing/materials, texture compression, removal of duplicate
reflection geometry and simulator propeller-disc substitutes. This represents the source's
SR22 configuration, not a claim to the latest SR Series generation.

## Piper PA-28-161 Warrior II

FlightGear PA28 contributors, including Josh Davidson (Octal450), D-ECHO,
Jonathan Redpath (legoboyvdlp), Knüppelrührer, c172p-team, and the contributors
listed in the preserved THANKS file.
[Official FGAddon source](https://svn.code.sf.net/p/flightgear/fgaddon/trunk/Aircraft/PA28/),
revision 21797. [GNU GPL version 2](./licenses/warrior.txt).
Blender conversion, revised materials/glazing, texture compression, simulator helper cleanup.
The source livery's registration does not identify an aircraft Andrew has flown.

## Cessna 172 family exterior

The [c172p-team](https://github.com/c172p-team/c172p): onox, ludomotico,
Gilberto Agostinho, Fernando Barbosa, Wayne Bragg, Daniel Dubreuil, Jonathan Redpath,
Tuomas Kuosmanen, Anders Gidenstam, Waldo Kitty, Jonathan Schellhase, Horacio,
D-ECHO, Jarl Arntzen, and Benedikt Hallinger. See the archived README and Thanks.
[GNU GPL version 2](./licenses/c172.txt).

The source is a **172P exterior**, used as a 172-family study. Andrew's flying experience
was in **172SP aircraft with Garmin G1000s**; the display is not an SP-specific cockpit
reproduction. Changes: Blender conversion, span normalization to 11 m, revised glazing,
texture compression, removal of interaction volumes, tie-downs, covers, and light billboards.

## F-22 Raptor

Fabrizio Fracaroli / AeroFab, 2010, [official FGAddon source](https://svn.code.sf.net/p/flightgear/fgaddon/trunk/Aircraft/Lockheed-Martin-FA-22A-Raptor/),
revision 21797. [GNU GPL version 2](./licenses/GPL-2.0.txt).
Original copyright and permission notice retained in the archived f22-jsbsim-set.xml.
Changes: Blender conversion, physical surface materials, reduced-contrast camouflage,
welded and subdivided canopy with a revised finish, texture compression, and removal
of simulator effects. Source-era markings are retained.

## Van's RV-10 and Cirrus Vision Jet

Original exterior display meshes created for this site in Blender. © 2026 Andrew Choutka.
Source: `scripts/aircraft/build_originals.py` in the website repository.

The RV-10 proportions were checked against Van's
[three-view drawing preserved by the NTSB](https://data.ntsb.gov/Docket/Document/docBLOB?FileExtension=.PDF&FileName=RV-10+Three+View+Drawing-Master.PDF&ID=40313077):
24 ft length, 31 ft 9 in span. The Vision Jet uses Cirrus'
[published dimensions and views](https://cirrusaircraft.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/N1WA-Spec-Sheet.pdf):
9.3 m length, 11.8 m span. Original construction includes lofted skins, actual glazing
openings, closed airfoil sections, curved fairings, and a recessed SF50 engine inlet.
Door and cowling joints, handles, control-surface divisions, fuel caps, position lights,
and flush paint stripes provide exterior detail. Fine panel layout, cabin interiors,
and systems are simplified.
